Well this will make her mom, who I'm pretty sure is a Dream season ticket holder, very happy. Local collegiate player, played at Tech. I've never seen her play. No great WNBA stats to speak of. We'll see what she can do and give her a chance. Maybe also a move to get more locals in the seats?

Thanks afoundingfan i have been checking the site ALL day to see what was going to happen. I pretty much called it like it happen. I had a feeling that they would be getting an unknown person who probably would not offer much to the team. When they traded Camille for a draft pick I figured it would have to be someone that wasn't even playing in the league. I don't want to bad mouth Kerry because I know NOTHING about her but how are you going to bring someone in to help you that didn't even make a team. Jewiz

Well, what a pick up: Kasha Terry! Are you serious?
We don't need another former Ga Tech player with ties to the ATL on the roster. This move is one to get fans in the seats. We don't necessarily need more fans, we need wins. Kasha Terry was an "ok" college player. She never played much in Indiana, so they cut her (plus she was injured the first two years in the league). If history repeats itself, she won't play much here either. I will say she is more athletic than Feenstra. She will mix it up down low (at least she did in college). She will probably add a little more offense assuming she plays. She is foul trouble prone, but what else is new.
Dream fans, stay tuned for the Saga, Part 3!!!

ok, here comes my rant again.... Tech has fans? If it was a move to get fans, there are a few UT players floating out there, plus some that are on par with Terry and that probably could have been traded for Little straight up. SASS, you out there?

I wish the team would put out something other than a cut-and-dried press release for these things...you know, a quote from the coach about why the person was signed/cut, what they expect the new person to bring to the team, etc. I mean maybe there's a lot more to these two transactions and they can't be transparent about some things, but IMO if there is more open communication, I feel that this would help them in the area of PR esp. with all the grumbling going on.

General: Strong post player with a wide arm span that is equally talented on both ends of the court • Selected in the second round of the 2006 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever • Made her mark early at Georgia Tech with her defensive ability by leading the Atlantic Coast Conference and finishing 18th in the nation in blocked shots during her sophomore season • Finished her career standing second in the Tech record books, and ninth in the ACC annals, with 195 blocked shots in her four years on the Flats • An athletic forward that runs the floor extremely well • Is equally efficient with her back to the basket as she is facing the goal • An honorable-mention ACC All-Rookie selection in 2003 that is one of the top recruits to have ever signed with the Yellow Jackets. for more>>> ramblinwreck.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/terry_kasha00.htmlhmmm... This may prove to be a good move...I certainly hope so.

AFF This is probably my biggest compliaint with the operations folks. They don't communicate well to their fans - even the founding fans newsletters don't really give good insight into what's going on in the organization. I'm not sure what that's all about.

Regarding the comment about the team not sharing tons of info about the recent moves.....There is always an interesting balance for teams with regards to personnel moves....fans don't always understand why something happened because they do not know the full story behind the scenes, but teams don't always choose to share the full story because there is not a lot of benefit in doing so in most cases. Some GMs like Laimbeer choose to call out players publicly but most teams do not take that approach when trading or cutting players.
Like any expansion team, the Dream has to start with the available options it could pick from the other teams and then over time assess who fits and who does not (Laimbeer made the same point a lot less eloquently recently when he was in town). Sometimes the lack of fit will be obvious to the fans, other times it will not.....and the team also has to keep an eye on the future with respect to players who are unable to play right now but will be available later this year or next (Desouza, Anderson, Leuchanka) as it tinkers with the roster....
Ironically at this point the Dream have a much stronger base than Chicago did at the same point in time even though the record is worse, with four solid guards in Latta, Young, Izie, and Lennox that are all capable of scoring big on any given night and can play solid defensively. Unfortunately with a few bad breaks, bad calls, and a key injury to the team's best post player (who was an emerging star before going down) the record has not ended up as positive as it could have....but the foundation is there to keep building on for success....
