Thanks for the good comments about Lehning. She does what she's told, and to this point, she's just been dishing. Folks here b*tched about her doing it, but that's apparently what the coach wanted. She's slashed to the bucket and dished her entire life....and tonight she apparently was turned loose to do it. Depending upon the circumstances, she will take what she's given. She will get lots of rebounds some games, lots of points the next....good assists almost every game. But she does what the coach and team ask of her. Tonight, they apparently asked more.

I took in my first ever WNBA game tonight and was able to see my favorite player score her first points... then her third, fourth and fifth! I was one happy fan! We settled into our seats and soon realized the people in front of us had also driven from Kansas. How many players would inspire fans to drive over a thousand miles for ball games? I was also thrilled to meet another poster on this board!
I have to agree with Pusser - Shalee is going to do what she is told. None of us know what she is being told so we are not in a position to cast judgement. I have a feeling the coaches may have been easing her into a role gradually. I saw confidence in her tonight that had not been obvious when watching the webcasts.
Tonight was a fabulous experience and I'm glad we get to stay for three more games. Sancho was scary good and all the players are so extremely talented. The element I see lacking is the team chemistry and I think that will continue to develop as the season progresses.

Hey, Shaleefan! It's awesome that you'd come all the way to Atlanta to see the game. Glad you got to see your favorite do well!
Help me on the pronunciation, please. Is it "SHAY-ly", "SHAY-lee", "Sha-LEE", "SHAW-ly" or what? I've heard various announcers give it various sounds.
And is "LENN-ing" correct for the last name? Or is it "LANE-ing"?
Thanks
