Jaye, you said that mm brought ivory back due to fan pressure. But wouldn't you think there would be other decisions she'd make first if she cared that much about fan pressure? Like maybe getting rid of Izzy to start with!
My guess is that ivory will get gradually more playing time and will get her rhythm back. Another guess is that mm didn't bring ivory back so much as she dumped NIkki and needed another guard, and ivory knows the system. I think she dumped Nikki because her body was giving way, and she doubted she'd finish the season in good enough shape to contribute much.
Shalee's getting the playing time. she'll be starting at PG soon. Ivory will come in often, but at 2. I think she'll be asked to take some long shots to compensate for our weakness in that area. She hasn't shown much success with that yet, but she hasn't had time to get into a rhythm in any game. so yes, I do think we'll see a good bit of Shalee and ivory in there at the same time, and I expect they'll play well off each other.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm an ivory fan because she's from South Carolina, where I live, and I'm boosting the "hometown hero." I hated that she went to UNC, but that's done now. I also like to see short people succeed in games usually dominated by big people, so I'm predisposed toward people like ivory and tamecka johnson. (Sorry if I didn't spell her first name right.) Take all that for whatever you think it's worth.

I hope and pray that mm gives other players more playing time..it takes alot for players such as ivory jus to sit on the bench and watch..especially since she has normally started..she even scored almost 15 pionts with the shock and bill didnt even really play her a much...If MM gives players such as ivory more time to get into the swing of things then we cud see some changes but as yall said..MM's dog house is getting full....

Like maybe getting rid of Izzy to start with! izzy and meadors have a relationship that goes back for many years....this is a previous post from ducky24..... Their connection goes back to Izi's days with the MIami Sol. From what i read, coach meadors was on that coaching staff and they had a really close relationship because izi wasn't fluent in english and meadors could understand her. They got seperated after the Sol folded. I read when meadors was on the mystics coaching staff, she wanted izi. So from my understanding, she has always wanted izi on her team, even when izi was with the storm, that's why she was put up in the dispersal draft...

Thank you, Jaye, for reposting the comment on the roots of the close mm/Izzy relationship. That might explain a lot.
Still, that doesn't affect my point. MM's been under fan pressure for lots of things. Why bend on this particular one, but remain rigid on the others?
I don't know the woman, but bowing to fan pressure just doesn't seem to me to be part of her make-up. Though I suppose that if the pressure came through the owner, it might make a world of difference.

Tichayo and Co! I don't get it why you guys have been so hard on Izzy. She's been playing very well, considering that the team is quite desoriented... Have you guys been watching the same games that I have? OH MY GOSH, what about Holdsclaw's performance, anything to say? Well, I think the team has no idea what they are doing. It's pretty much individual plays, one after another. No organization on defense, as well as offensively. Our very best shooter is DeSouza, and she gets NO passes whatsoever. She's been scoring pretty much off offensive boards. What about passing the ball to her instead of forcing shots? That's our major problem, the lack of team plays.... everyone knows that the first principle of basketball is to take easy shots: lay-ups. I think we will start winning ball games when we realize we have one of the most agressive centers in the league with a great scoring potencial, and her name is Desouza. But, again, as for Izzy, she is improving A LOT and pulling out great games. I would like to see Izzy and Angel start one game. I guess we would have more energy on the floor!
