Check out the Tulsa World webpage concerning the Shock moving to Tulsa.
As I have said, I'm computer illiterate, so I don't know how to post the link, but it was interesting, to say the least. Check out the blog comments at the bottom.
If somebody wants to look it up and post the link, that would be great.

This is sweet music to my ears, especially: "As for rumors of a move to Gwinnett Center -- those seem to be unfounded. The team has a five-year deal with Philips Arena, of which they are now in year two. Breaking that deal would be very costly, and there are no indications that Philips is anything but happy with their summer renters and the revenue they bring in. The Dream have no interest in moving away from downtown Atlanta and all of its advantages for fans, such as the MARTA, for one. So it seems fans can put that fear to rest." YES!!!! That was my biggest concern--lol--well, besides them leaving, etc. I'm ready to become a new STH as soon as the ink dries on the contracts--so lets go!!!

not really ecstatic about the way this organization handles a lot of things.....this just being the latest on the list.....i think my love affair with the dream is about at an end.....still like and will support the players.....but i'm beginning to dislike the organization.....
i still haven't been able to rekindle my teenaged sons interest in the dream and the wnba as a whole after his dissatisfaction with meadors.....for most of the first year....even tho we were losing he would watch the games with me....with excitement.....
again.....it's very easy to alienate your fan base....especially in atlanta.....

Ya know...in any business at it evolves, there are uncertainties....and until more solid information is accumulated, there is no need to get all the subordinates in an uproar by disclosing every piece of minutia there is....and until they knew what was going on for sure, they chose not to disclose it because it was not INKED in regards to ownership, player transactions etc....there are a lot of variables.
So if you want to JUMP SHIP at every little thing....than FAN you are not. Atlanta has trouble with sports teams and faltering support because of FANS LIKE YOU who run whenever THEIR agenda does not seem to be met...oh well.

who died and made you our daddy.....you act in the manner that you deem appropriate.....and we'll do the same....loyalty goes both ways.....you be the type of fan you want to be....and i'll be the type that i wish....and the word is fan.....not blind fanatic.....my continued loyalty comes with an obligation to me.....that is to at least act in a manner at lets me feel that the organization appreciates my support.....the dream organization handled this thing badly......and it's not the first instance.....
you know what...i don't need to explain my motivations to you.....it's none of your da** business how i feel about it....i posted my (and others that i've talked to) feelings about the organizations actions....it wasn't an invitation to bash..... i stated that i still like and will support the players.....any other way that i feel is once again.....none of your d**n business.....

Gentlemen, please. Don't do that. One thing I can say is more valuable to me as a fan of women's basketball is to see MEN take interest in the women's game period. I log on here just to read Jaye's post before, after and during a game. Because in a country where for the majority of mention of WNBA hoops is just a running joke on South Park or Family Guy, it means a lot. So please, don't. As far as business goes, yes, being in corporate America myself--the Dream team should be selling all the ST's in the world right now even during negotiations. Strike while the iron hot! I have STH money burning a hole in my pocket!! Come the holidays though--ouch! They wil have to wait until tax time. So, I'm little upset about the whole business stance just like the others. Teamwise, I wouldn't jump ship unless they did something just flat out insane like trade Angel or Erika! Thank goodness we wouldn't have to worry about that, right? ;D
