It seems kind of nitpicky to be slicing Shalee when, you are right (bballer), she is not THE reason we are losing. However, I did want to explain that when I mentioned ball handling, I was not referring to her assists, but rather her dribbling (stutters, cross body, behind the body, etc.). Maybe it's a style preference thing.
Also, not sure if you know, but the WNBA uses an efficiency rating system. Shalee isn't the least efficient point with a 4.73 rating (Bevilaqua/2.8, Hornbuckle/3.12), however, she is not even close to the most efficient (Bird/16.5, Hammon/17, Renee Montgomery/15.8, Cappie/18, Whalen/15.4). Even disregarding the most efficient points, Shalee is still behind Harding/7.64, January/8.1, Latta/9.6, Kelly Miller/8.7, Leilani Mitchell/5.8. BTW, as you can tell, I didn't note all the points, just some of the more visible ones.
It is worth pointing out that we waived Latta, an original member of The Dream, and traded Kelly Miller and BOTH have almost double the efficiency of Shalee.
We need Sancho healthy and in the paint. We have 22 or 23 games left. We can absolutely pull it around for a winning season and, depending on what others do, a playoff berth. Don't forget, we went into the playoffs last season at 19-15/4th seed. The window for pulling it together is getting narrow, but I haven't lost hope yet.
If anyone from the Dream reads these boards, look into Jim Loehr. He speaks and writes books on mental toughness training for sports and how to maximize performance in the most stressful situations. He was responsible for helping Dan Jansen come back to win the gold after two olympic fails and has brought countless other athletes to their peaks. www.hpinstitute.com/why-hpi/our-people/dr-jim-loehr
