UTR23: I understand and agree with your frustration. I don't think Detroit played particularly well although Kara Braxton was on. I thought Betty shot us out of the game at different points in the second half. I thought we lacked coaching once Detroit gained the lead in the 3rd quarter. Detroit went to work down low and we settled for jump shots. We never looked inside. No Cheryl Ford or Plenette Pierson tonight. You have to exploit the weakness in the post. Get Braxton out and I'd be willing to take my chances with Humphrey and Sanni defending Lacy, Mann, Lovelace, (even Terry). You don't even need Feenstra because she is awful anyway.

Checking in with my observations. Great effort by the Dream. I was very impressed with Young! Wow! She was a great draft pick. Betty took too many shots. Still love Betty but she needs to share the ball more. We *desperately* need Erika back. We need a post that's aggressive in the paint. I can't wait to see Erika again. She deserves a standing ovation when she returns. I'm not kidding. What's up with Izi? Not trying to be critical but I was expecting more offense from her. This is business (not personal) so I'm just going to say it: shop Katie F now!! We need an upgrade. Hope someone in the front office reads the boards...

All of you need to calm that noise about "Betty not playing with the team and that is why we won't win." Betty, Latta, Tee are the only ones leaving it on the floor. Betty is your go to player and leader on this team. Sometimes she does take shots that she could have waited for but to say that she is out for self is a little crazy, considering she is the only one who has experience at this job. If she doesn't shoot who will? No one knows how to create. Well- I take that back. You have Lovelace thinking she is a gaurd shooting threes all the time instead of having her long behind in the paint, but other than that, Betty cries after every game because she wants a win. She is not into her stats. That is why she does not smile on the court until the win is shown on the board. Coach is telling her basically to do everything. Unlike lovelace and some of the others trying to hit the clubs after the game and not really caring Betty and Latta are talking about how to get this team going for the next game in practice. IF.... the owner can find them a practice facility.

To hear that Betty cries after the games is heartbreaking! I know the type of work ethic Ivory has so I know she's serious about winning and it's good to know that Betty cares so much. I take back what I said about Betty. I was tough for me to post about her sharing more as it was because I also feel that she does leave it all on the court every night. I would hope that all of the players are serious about wanting to win. Those that are not should be traded asap. Latta, Lennox, and Young are keepers. I'm not sure about some of the others. I've said before that it's troubling that we don't have any bench players averaging in double figures. We need to trim the fat and some of the muscle, if needed. We never should have traded Camille. For the record, I read on the UNC wcbb board that Camille's boyfriend is from Seattle. Maybe she wanted to go...

Unlike lovelace and some of the others trying to hit the clubs after the game and not really caring Betty and Latta are talking about how to get this team going for the next game in practice. IF.... the owner can find them a practice facility. first off you need to understand that sometimes critism is a positive thing.... it's all about what you come away from it with..... the problem isn't only with the amount of shots betty takes.... it's with her shot selection...... and regardless of how indignant you get about it....it is a problem....good scorers pick their spots..... it's not about jacking up as many shots as you can.....you can get numbers like that.....but you can't win like that..... once betty gets it into her mind that she's shooting..... an act of god couldn't stop her.....regardless of how many people are on her.....regardless of what position she's in......this has always been betty.... when she's on.... she'll take you across the finish line.....but when she's not she hurts her team....the really good players.....when their shot isn't on will concentrate on other aspects of their game.....in an effort to (and pay attention to this) "help their team"..... i like betty.....i love ballers and she definitely comes under my definition of a baller.....but it's time that betty got some maturity in her game..... when arguing the negatives of a player..... to try and counter by pointing out what some other player is doing is a weak argument....how does the fact that another player messed up also excuse the player in question..... bottom line is.....betty hurts us at times.....she's our franchise player and we can't do without her.....but she needs to learn to recognize the times when she's not playing like it.....drop the ego and sacrifice the ppg average.....if young is hot take a back seat to her....or whoever else is clicking.... and like i said.....get some maturity in her game....

Jaye: Thanks for summing up what I was trying to say minus the frustration. (mind you I posted as soon as the game ended) Everything you said was what I was trying to say. Betty is one of our strongest players and we need her badly. I'm going to just leave it at that, I totally agree with your post 100%!
