There aren't many out there but in case I've overlooked them, what are your favorite women's basketball movies/documentaries?
Mine are: 1) The Heart Of The Game 2) Love & Basketball 3) Edge of America

What, no Juwanna Mann? Love "Love and Basketball". Sanaa Lathan is one of my favorite actresses as is Gabrielle Union, who has a small role. I thought that one chick (Monica's rival) was based on Tammi Reiss. Also love that they used a lot of songs that were hits in the time frame the movie covers (i.e. "Candy Girl" in the early 1980s scenes; old school rap -- MC Lyte, Rob Base -- and maybe Guy (?) in the late 80s scenes). "Heart of the Game", a documentary, was pretty good. Kind of heartbreaking in some parts; worth seeing. "Believe in Me" was good too. The story is set in 1960s Oklahoma and revolves around a coach who arrives at his new school only to find out he will be coaching the girls' team. Definitely worth seeing, and as a bonus you see Taurasi in a very small role as an opposing coach. I don't know how much of her part ended up on the cutting room floor, but from what I saw, she should stick to basketball and to playing herself in commercials. In post-production now (according to its web site) is "Our Lady of Victory", which is set in 1972 and is the story about the Immaculata Mighty Macs and how they win the first women's basketball championship. Thanks afoundingfan for the info on Believe In Me and Our Lady of Victory. I'll rent the first and look out for the second.
The Heart of the Game definitely has a big issue (other than teen pregnancy) that you sort of feel coming but not until immediately before its revealed. A good overall documentary.

Finally saw Believe In Me a few weeks back. Good movie. Yes, Taurasi definitely needs to stick to basketball and being herself.
