Alright Dream fans, here is your chance to be a part of Dream history. The Hawks have The Highlight Factory. The Thrashers have Blueland. We need your help to determine a good nickname for Philips Arena for your Dream! My first thought was Dreamland... but that is way too close to what the Thrashers use. We need your creative minds and ideas for a name... so put on your thinking caps and come up with some good names for us... who knows, we might just use it!

It should be "Lights Out! Arena" , Think about it....Philips Light bulbs.....When you sleep & dream the lights are out........and when you take care of business, you turn the lights out!

If we think of each game as a battle, then there would be an army and that would be our team. Starters would be our front line. With that metaphor, a good name might be "THE CASTLE" (positives: home for royalty; need to protect the castle; a man's home is his castle; queen of the castle; since a castle is a synonym for a house - it can be where you dream. negatives: castle in the sky is a term for a dream, but more like a pipe dream (although, the press can already use the term "pipe dream" when referring to our team if we are not doing well); press can also refer to the castle as being under siege; could be considered inconsistent with The Dream's family-oriented marketing).
Another idea is "THE CHAMBER" (positives: chambers is another word for bedroom which is where we dream; orchestra chambers and a team, like an orchestra, has to come together to make beautiful music/the team is playing in perfect harmony. negatives: press could use the term "torture chamber" which also could be inconsistent with The Dream's family-friendly marketing strategy).
A more family-friendly idea was "THE LIVING ROOM." It's where I watch sports when I am at home. It's where the family gathers and where family memories are made. Also, I might take a nap and Dream in that room, so it has some relevance to our team name. That might be more consistent with the "bring the family" marketing of The Dream, although, it is not nearly as fierce as my other ideas.
My last idea and, again, it might be too aggressive for this team's intended image, is "THE JUNGLE" - where it is survival of the fittest. Although, it can also mean lack of laws. This name just sort of has a cool vibe to it. If we got the rights, we could use the song, "Welcome to the Jungle," although, the portion used should be carefully selected as some of the lyrics are R-rated references
Okay, I am fresh out of ideas. Sorry for the novel. Hope these names either work or trigger another person's creativity.

The nickname for Philips Arena for the Atlanta Dream should be "The Sleeper Hold" as in the wrestling maneuver (once) used in professional wrestling matches. "The Sleeper Hold" aka Philips Arena is where the Atlanta Dream puts the opposition to sleep.

Now that the Thrashers are gone, it could be Dreamland.

How about, "The Trance Arena"? or simply, "The Trance"?
