wow, what a game...i loved it....michael price called a great game....the other 2 officials really concern me...the little black female and the black male ref have to learn more on officiating...they both seem to be one dimensional and that isn't cool....the obvious moving screen by the lauren jackson person held two (2) of our players as she prepared sue (whom I have much respect for) to take the shot....lj looked like a blocker setting up the quarterback for the touchdown pass....too close of a game and too good of a game for officials to fail and make that "illegal screen" call at the wire.......what lj did would have been legal in football, however, in basketball what she did was an infraction and it should have been called..........touchdown seattle!!!! anyone wanna see us take 3-in-a-row ?....woo hoo...

I think that is funny that you mentioned the illegal screen (moving screen). I was going to ask how did people honestly feel about it...I mean, it was a GREAT game and hard fought by both ends it just sucked for them not to call the Moving Screen. They say "refs cant see everything, but just like when Willngham was throwing elbows in the open field and the refs said he didnt see it...this was not something that was sneaky, it was very obvious!" Oh well...on to the next game...and YES tonyt I was thinking about that last night...WE R GOING TO TAKE 3 IN A ROW!
The game we played yesterday was excellent...everyone stepped up there game and brought it....EVERYONE DID!!! I was thinking something though and wanted others opinion...When lyttle has to come out of the game (for whatever reason), what do you all think about putting Luechinka on LJ instead of Erica. I think that Erica is great but too slow to guard LJ. Although Luechinka fouls alot, shes physical and has more speed than Erica. I think they let LJ get away with too much too...Luechinka and LJ to me down low plays just as physical (throwing bows and things) but LJ hardly ever get called on it. During one play, LJ hooked Angeled really bad and tried to do it so fast that she got caught on Angel and lost the ball...A hook is a Off Foul isnt it? I mean this hook was so bad LJ almost fell and she got stuck doing it...but no foul was called. Bales did a great job for us too...I think she needs more minutes...she blocked some good shots and also got a couple of good steals!

one reason they didn't call the moving screen was because armintie went behind the pick instead of above it (as she should have done in that situation) and bird changed direction... when lauren started moving.... her direction of movement was towards the basket... not parallel to bird... it it did serve to effectively stop armintie from getting to bird... not that i think she would have been able to any way.... but she was more or less moving in the direction of the basket.... not a lot different than a pick and roll... birds change of direction pretty much took armintie out of the playanyway.... seeing as how she was already behind lj when bird made her move.....

dream06...Bales I feel should have been given more minutes also....she has good hands and doesn't mind defending....in a physical game like Sunday and the elbows thrown by lj and some of the others on the Storm, Luechinka probably may have served us well for a little tic for tac......she doesn't mind bruising the opponents..:>) I can't see any reason they should not have called that foul on lj, except they just didn't want to call it....regardless of the direction she had turned, her movement was: screen into a pick and roll with both hands extended keeping 2 (two) of our players at bay.....her screen became a moving screen in actuality and with her extended arms she lost all reasonable legal pick and roll status with her arms hooking our players impeding any of their possible progress....thus placing herself in a position for the foul to be called...it didn't matter if Arminte or the other Dream player couldn't have gotten to Sue....the foul-fact is that they were not given the opportunity....who knows jaye, I have seen arminte be in tighter situations than that and as long as she wasn't being held her speed would get her there on many occasions... i don't like losing, but i despise being cheated out of a tight, excellent and well fought game like sweet Sunday.... oh well suck it up tt and prepare to shock the world Atl Dream with our winning 3-in-a-row...

there's no rule tony about where her hands must be when she's rolling to the basket.... and it doesn't turn a roll to the basket into a moving screen.... i agree she could possibly have been called for holding.... if she had hooked instead of having her arms just extended... she might have been.... but point still is that armintee by going below the pick instead of above it was woefully out of position.... in a situation like that you've got to fight your way above the pick.... that's basic basketball... from midget ball to the nba....
it was a great game... we just came up short.... jmo
