<<Katie has moments when she does well and the coach needs to recognize that. I think Feenstra is the type of player that you put in for a few minutes at a time. Put her in to give us a big presence inside get the ball to her a few times for some quick baskets like she did last night and then get out for some minutes.>>
Agreed. She has been able to kill the other team for 2-3 minutes by getting a couple of baskets, getting fouled and making her free throws. After that she starts dropping passes and getting overpowered.

Shop Feenstra? Who'd want her? everything has "some" value even if we just got a good towel girl..... and it would open up a slot.... and the problem with just playing her in spots is.... that more often than not.... before we can get her out of there.... she does something horrible that just destroys our momentum..... anyway.... there are other ball players that have just as good an upside.... without that terrible downside.... why are we even wasting the time.... in anycase.... i doubt very seriously that feenstra will be with us next year.... if she is.... we need to start drawing up the pickets.....

Once again everything goes back to coaching. Katie played with some toughness last night so I'll give her that. I'm not sure if getting rid of Feenstra is the answer (at least not while Desouza is out) unless we had a reasonable replacement. In the meantime, the coaching staff needs to create some plays that work for Katie and the team needs to execute them.
I agree with jaye on the fact that Katie seems to make big mistakes at all the wrong times. Bottom line: if Atlanta wants women's basketball to stick around the coaching staff and/or player lineup needs to be changed. If not now, definitely next year.

I played for several years with a big that had slow reaction times just like Katie. The coaches could help out the situation by teaching the guards not to whip it in there expecting her to catch it like you might a Leslie or a Candace Dupree. She isn't a gazelle she is a take up space and post up strong player. A bounce pass every now an then would do wonders. That high lob is an okay pass, but not if you come down refuse to swing the ball on offense stare right at her then pass it. My 12-year old team can see that coming.

if you've got a clip of feenstra posting up strong..... i'd love to see it.... lol ..... it doesn't really matter how you pass it to her.... once she gets it she's as weak with it as any big i've ever seen.... even shawn bradley had SOME skill..... not a lot.... but some.... feenstra plays like if you took your average middle aged housewife that's put on a few extra lbs.... that has never really had any interest in sports..... if you made her 6'8" and put her out there to play.....
i know that my opinion doesn't carry much weight..... but i have absolutely no confidence in her at all..... she's probably a very good person..... she seems sweet..... but as a basketball player.... she's just not very good.....

By all accounts, Katie is an amazing person off the court. I just think that we should think about trading her for another big. We need someone who will be more aggressive in the paint. I feel awful saying it because she's such a nice young lady but I just don't think that this situation is working out...

I agree with Lattafan. We need someone who is not looking to pass the ball while in the post. We need a player that will shoot the ball or take the foul for at least trying. She is too passive of a player for this new team.

I've seen that "pass the ball in post" thing more than once. Katie will probably be moving on. How long do contracts last in the WNBA, anyway?
