The WNBA is trying to find investors in the Bay Area to buy and move the Monarchs. www.wnba.com/news/monarchs_091120.htmlAnd once again, my hopes of a team coming to St. Louis are destroyed...

So far, I'm hearing nothing more about a move to the Bay Area, nor to anywhere else either. Unless something develops rather quickly, it looks like the Monarchs are done. I miss them already. But tk90, if you want them to move to St. Louis, maybe there's still time. Just call up a few of your local millionaires and persuade them to put up the necessary money! Maybe someone, somewhere can.

You can thank the powers-that-be in the W for their p**s poor marketing and promotion strategies. If you don't have a team near you, the chances of anyone developing any interest in the sport is slim to none. The news of a failing/folding franchise hardly makes a dent in the media. And to be sure, present owners really don't seem to care much about selling. They probably would rather get a tax write-off.
