The Dream had a wonderful game tonight. Courtside is great especially when the Dream takes the 'go ahead' in the last quarter! Absolutely inspiring. Armintie, Bales and Leuchanka looked REALLY good. I'd like to see Price in the starting line-up soon.
While Angel has had a great year so far, and I'm proud of that fact, I can't help but notice some changes in her. This year, she doesn't seem as personable and down-to-earth as before. Even though she produces, it seems as though her attitude is outgrowing the halo that I'd come to admire. She seems 'distant' with the fans, not like last year. Is it just me or does anyone else see something different in her?

I don't really know, but maybe she's just "getting her game face on", because she can see the great possibilities of the team?

I dont think so. I do know shes very busy, alot more than last year. I used to talk to her all the time on line but now I only get to talk to her here and there but she will tell me its bc of all of her activities. I dont know her personally but I have told her that I am a HUGE fan. When they came to Washington, I dont she knew who I was but I bought court side tickets and walked past there bench, well the security officers saw me reach my hand out to say hello and she said, "Hes cool" and gave me dap anyway. She could of just ignored me but she didnt. Also during the game they are in the zone, I sat right beside the bench and everyone tried to ignore me (to concentrate on the game). I didnt take it personal because I knew thats why they were doing it, but I was hoping to get one of there attentions...lol

a lot of times when you're pissed at one person..... it shows and bleeds over to others.... angel has always been a handful for coaches.... and meadors has always been a tyrant.... mm will not hesitate to bench a player to show her dominance and does not like the idea of superstars.... and angel is not used to not getting her way.... i don't think all is rosey in lockerville.... at least that would be my guess....

Dee Dee...I agree with you.
I mentioned at the open practice that is seems there is "the team" and then....there is Angel.
I noticed a lot of the other players interacting with each other more, being relaxed and playful more....yet...with Angel....NOT SO MUCH.
I have noticed at games in the ON COURT HUDDLE that others go encourage other players...NOT ANGEL.
Seems there is a chemistry issue to me...but maybe I am reading into it.

I hope you're wrong Jaye and Trueblue, but if not, I hope they can fix it.

Like you guys, I don't want to read 'anything into anything' but it just seems that something is amiss. I hope that the chemistry thing kicks in fully so that the Dream can advance to the best of their ability. Angel being 'stand-offish' with the fans is one thing we can live with but with her teammates...? Not good any way you look at it. If she's in 100%, the Dream is unstoppable.

a sports truism is.... when you're winning.... everyone puts their beefs on the back burner... but when the losing starts they start getting more vocal.... right now we're winning... so all you'll see is frowns and sulks.... if angel is upset about something ( i know she doesn't like being benched)....it's kind of hard for her to be too vocal with mm because we're winning)... so maybe it comes out in other ways.... i don't have any inside info.... just surmising...

Back in her Louisville days, she had an issue with dealing with teammates, especially her facial expressions towards them. It was so big of a problem that they had to videotape them so she can understand where they were coming from. I assume that its rearing its ugly head again.

someone at rebkell mentioned that it's happening again.... and that she also in one game took a wild shot and then yelled at a teammate because she didn't get the rebound....

I think people are blowing things up...I mean yes, in college she had a bad temper and after they showed her she started to work on it. Now does not mean that shes magically going to stop...NO! but she is working on it and thats all you can ask. While at the dream has she made some faces....probably but everyone gets frustrated here and there when there team is not performing to its best. Look at Catchings, after the loss to the Sun she expressed how dissappointed she was and said that she told some people how she felt they are letting the team down. Now Catchings has been in the game for a while and has ALOT more tact than Angel but it gets frustrated. For example, how is Izzi not going to score AT ALL against the Sun...for real...at all or the piss poor job she did against Indiana. Angel has had her bad games but she atleast helped out with 11 or so points and in areas such as either rebounds or steals (when Lyttle was out she stepped up and became the second rebounder on the team).
I think people take her being frustrated some and try to run away with it...thinking she has gone back to her original state of mind in highschool, which is not fair. Diana does it all the time with her team mate, Pondexter has done it, Parker has done it but when Angel does it, its like....there she goes again. I think she is handling herself good considering she is only in her second year and has the task of leading a team (which is hard when you are young because she is a passionate person, wants to win, and when she can tell people are not pushing thereselves to the fullest, she gets frustrated). No one says anything when Erica gets frustrated and mad, especially when Shalee doesnt pass her the ball, last game she called her out on the court. Castro and Erica has received multiple Techs, that hurts the team but where is the blog about that....how many has Angel received. Sorry, I am not mad but I am a bit frustrated because it seems like alot of people have no sympathy when it comes to Angel. They give a lip like shes been in the league for as long as the other MVP candidate players.

nothing anyone has said about angel has been a lie.... nor has it been malicious.... it simply is.... if you want to talk about the faults of the others.... no problem.... it's not like anyone is trying to covertly hide them.... we've got several chemistry problems.... as i said... when you're winning everyone is in love with everyone else.... but when you start losing.... people start acting as they really feel....
regardless of whether she's one of your fav's or not... angel has some personality faults and ego problems.... on the court at least.... and the things she does.... teammates the universe over just do not like... erica's not the leader.... izi isn't the leader.... angel is.... and like it or not... she's not really acting like one.... if she hasn't been in the league long enough to be a leader... then she shouldn't be one.... cause it's obvious that she doesn't yet have the capability of being one.... being a team leader requires a lot more than the ability to score points...

I KNOW Angel has flaws...her major one is her attitude. Never said she didnt have them. I stated that people blow things that she do up and not recognize that she is trying to get better with her attitude. Like this whole blog topic "Angels Halo", come on...for real. You see her do something and the world ends, while others do it and its cool. She is still young and I would prefer to have a vet on the team to lead it or a good coach to teach her (I would honestly love for Angel to play with Catchings, she could really teach her something or have Ms. Dunn/Mystics coach, coach Angel). But the truth of the matter is, there is no other person on the Dream that can lead the team, shes the only option. Is she the best leader, NOT yet but she has tried dispite her youth in age (some people can handle it, she cant right now). Im just tired of people going over board trying to read in between lines when it comes to her. Even if she doesnt have a vet player to help her lead, a good coach could teach her but we lack that too.
You are right when things go well everyones cool but when things start to go wrong, you do see people true colors. I just wish people could stop reading inbetween the lines with Angel so much.
P.S. She does more than score...she fills the stats! LOL (dont know how to make the faces, new to this blog thing, I would of put a smiley face next!). Also, I dont think you do in particular but none of this is mean...we are all Dream fans so please dont take it personal.

The title is bit much don't u think??.. At the end of the day, I don't sense that the players dislike her in anyway. I think you guys are reading too much, into her facial expressions on the court. She's young, which means she still has a lot of growing to do..
