I know its early but even in the postgame interview MM is talking about getting some WNBA experience for the team:
INTERVIEWER: Coach, I know it might be a little early to digest this, but if you had a wish list with two things, three things that you would like to change for next season to take it to the next level, you've come so far so fast, what would they be and why?
MM: Well, I really think that experienced players that have been in the WNBA Finals and playoff series for several years would be a wish list. We would like to have someone that we could count on to do that. I think leadership is what they give you when they have that experience because they've been there and gone through the series and things, but, you know, I don't know what lies in front of us as far as making changes with our team, I don't want to discuss that at this point. As a G.M. I'll take that coaching hat off and put the G.M. hat on a little bit, but you've got to get better every single year. If you sit still and are satisfied with what we did this year, chances are you won't be back here again. I want to continue to get better, and whatever we have to do to make those decisions, that's what we have to do. Free agency is always out there because you have experienced players coming out, maybe they want a different location, I don't know. I haven't even addressed that and looked to see who might be available. So I'm real pleased with the players that we do have, I think our core is very good, and we just need to continue to get better and solid, and if it stays at 11 players then you have to get depth, but we played our bench the entire year. They see considerable minutes, and they got better as the season progressed. So we will have to sit back, evaluate, look at game film, watch the series. I thought we did a great job of defeating Washington in the first two games, and then we turned around and defeated New York in two games, and we played exceptional basketball in those series, but we have to continue to get better. That's what we do.

The top of my wish list is that we get in talks with Deanna "Tweety" Nolan if we can. She doesn't want to go to Tulsa and there was talks about her and New York, but they have Cappie now.

I like her, but she's gonna have to come off the bench. And I'm not so sure she is willing to do that. Unless she can play PG.
I would not mind looking at Cheryl Ford, IF she is healthy.

we beat every team we played on the boards.... that's not really one of our problems.... and tweety can play either the 1 or the 2.... hard to imagine tweety.... one of the best guards in the game.... coming off the bench behind coco or armintie....

Tweety would be my first choice. It intersting to me that just about every team in the playoffs had a former Detroit Shock player or 2 on board. Don't think that's an accident. I see her as a starter for sure.
If that doesn't work, then I think we need someone who can come off the bench and score, sort of like a Jamal Crawford type.
Our bigs may not be the very best around, but they are good and we have 4 of them. Seattle, Chicago, LA, Conn at least one big that's better, but now have the numbers we've got.

She's ok.. We need a 3 pt shooter, more than anything else. Tweety is not going to do that consistantly..

Oh gosh, my neice just brought up Sheryl Swoopes! I quickly shook my head..probably not going to happen. Maybe MM will find a point player overseas to sign! Hey, shes going over there and someone is bound to turn her head!

Do we have to wait until Jan before we get a list of WNBA free agents?

I don't know who I would put on my wish list just yet. But, I can say that the Dream need somebody who can bring some leardership and experience to the team. We do not have a strong leader at all. Angel will become a good leader in time but she is not even close to being one right now. We also need somebody that can hit the d**n three. Our frontcourt of Sancho and Ericka is solid and one of the best in the W. Yes, sancho had a not so good last game but she is one of the best all around PF in the game right now. So I don't think we need any post players unless they are coming in as a good back-up for Ericka or Sancho. To tell the truth i like out back up post players. But If you can get better back-up that stand 6-5 and above go for it.

We definitely need better backup frontcourt players to Sancho and Erika, (they both get into foul trouble at times). Alison and Yelena are put in to "buy time" while Sancho and Erika sit on the bench. Neither one are offensive threats, but have the height to at least cause a deterrent until we can get them back in.
That said, Arminte, Shalee, Brittainey, Yelena and Alison are expendables just imo to sign free agents and get that backup post player and three point shooter.
Kara Braxton is an UFA come January. She has issues but I'd put her on my wish list with Tweety.

Is there some kind of salary cap (I mean, I know each player does not make millions of dollars)? In order to get Tweetie or even Braxton, we have to be real...people will only give those players up if we give up one of our greats (Sancho, Erica, Castro, or Angel). I think we should concentrate on backups and not starters (people that if our startes get in foul trouble we wont loose too much by subing them). I mean think if Tweetie, Angel, and Casto was on the same team...theres not enough minutes in a game for as many shots will be taken by those three..LOL. I think the Miller twins are good at PG for us...NO, they are not the best, BUT they can control the tempo, drive, and shoot the ball. Yes we could definetly get a better PG but ALL the good PG is going to come with a PRICE (loosing someone good from us). I think we need to keep our starters the same the help the bond together and just add bench player. I mean just look at what we did in the playoffs by starting Miller. Miller proved to us that she can play the PG position. Our style of play doesnt call for a dominate PG player...just someone who can RUN, PLAY DEFENSE, and is READY to SHOOT when needed.
I know we get alot of critism about our 3 ball...but did anyone pay attention on how well we shot the 3 ball during the playoffs? I think we did pretty good. No AGAIN, we were not the best 3 point shooting team in the playoffs but we were above average. With Castro, Miller, and Angel on the arc, we did some damage.
The only player I think we need to trade is Shalee (Im so sorry for Shalee fans). Shalee has a HUGE heart but TO ME is out of her league (atleast on this team). I know she has a HUGE fan base and I wish her the best but she is just taking up space to me. We dont need to trade Raven because she is good at the 3 and will develop to be a good person to give Angel a breather (she can hit the 3, shes fast, and plays good defense).
My main point is, if we are looking for this perfect team where we are going to have a super star at every position...thats really not going to happen (JMO)...I know Seattle does but they are the only team I can think of that does AND there bake ups are not that great (especially there BIGS, which is the main reason there starters made 90% of the points or better in the playoffs). I think we just have to hope and pray that our team works on their weakness over the off season and gets better...Catchings did and look at what she did this year in scoring (she hired a shooting coach, maybe thats what we need...heck get the same coach if need be).
So my vote would be...get rid of Shalee and bring in another back-up guard (Someone that can play 1 and 2).

Yes there is a cap but I imagine us to be well below it since the loss of Mique. Both Nolan and Braxton are free agents--Nolan is a core free agent for Tulsa, but Braxton is a unrestricted free agent meaning we can deal with her without a trade. I wonder about Brittainey Raven and if she will grow with the team. Angel speaks highly of her and we did see that she can hit the 3 pt shots in one game. I'm mostly impressed with CoCo of the Miller twins as of late. Kelly started the season well but then came the injury to be fair. I am not impressed with Arminite Price or Shalee, (sorry I do like her as a person too). I don't think we have trade stock, (unless you talking about one of our big names, and nope we don't want any of them to go). Its best to waive and cut and pick up players off the free agent market come January. We can forget the draft. (really) I think our cap can add a player like Tweety that can play 1 or 2 and we can waive Shalee and Arminite and/or offer Bales and Price in a trade. LOL, if Nolans that stupid . IMO we should make a run for Braxton and release Yelena or Bales. Braxton would be great to backup Big E and Sancho.
