for the record... when someone says... "defense won that game for us".... that doesn't translate into... we only played defense and did nothing else.... picking something out of an argument and taking it literally in order to bolster your argument isn't anything new.... of course our speed is an asset... as are plenty of other things... but when you look at games and your team is holding teams to 38% shooting and outrebounding them 2 sometimes 3 to one.... that's a pretty good indicator of where your success lies....
and when someone says "because of the teams we played" in the playoffs.... people that know basketball know that means because of the matchups.... not because the teams sucked....
and stats don't give you an indication of how much angel played the 4.... a better indicator is how much time sancho and erica played together..... which was quite a bit.... lachina's favorite comment was pointing out how much trouble teams were having with erica and sancho.... the lineup was switched around quite a bit from game to game.... some games price played sparingly..... a couple of games she started price and coco but went back to the lehning lineup after the start....
as for the comment about us winning without vets.... i don't' know what you were watching... but what i watched... we didn't.... we lost.... this game isn't about moral victories or losing with style....
you're the only person i have ever heard that thinks that we don't need veteran leadership....

Off topic for a minute: But why do people say "agree to disagree"? To me that means you don't want to continue arguing your point because you have no faith that the person will see your side and meet you halfway. You just want to stop talking about it. No offense, but that just gets me when people say that. LOL!
Back on Topic: Our team is indeed CHAOS. You need a floor leader to organize chaos. If you do not have that--you have no championship team unfornitely. You can have a great team like we do--tremendous team! But without a floor leader, you can't expect to come on top in crunch time. Thats where all the games in the SEA series were lost--crunch time.
Lakers have their Kobe, but what would they be without Derek Fisher to lead the team and make that big three pointer. Same with Seattle. They have LJ but who makes the big shot? Team leader, Sue Bird! Right now we have our Kobe and LJ in Angel, but no Derek Fisher or Sue Bird. I don't think Coco can be the veteran leader we need.
Side note: Watching FIBA and I hope Marynell is watching this Greek player Maltsi. Shes outstanding from the arc!

who's no. 6 on the greek team?... she's seriously cute.... some of our players are being effected a little by not being able to clear space by using the forearm or the shoulder... international refs are calling it every time....

LOL..6 is Dimitrakoud, game ok--but Maltsi and Kaltsidou, (8) have the outside range. I'm told that Maltsi has played for the W before for Conn. I'd take either of them for outside jumping range, but I don't see floor leadership in them.

Watching Senegal/France now. Yes, I paid the $25 for the FIBA live stream subscription..USA plays them in 18 hours. No rest for these world championships!
I can't help but think that both MM and Gillom are scouting for players for us and the Sparks from the international talent we're seeing. Problem is most of them make more $$ playing overseas then it would for them to come to the W.

ljohnverrell...you are 100% on the whole "Agree to Disagree" statement...lol! I felt like the disagreement was going nowhere (when you cant get the other person to see ANY of your side because they are so caught up in there own beliefs and has to be right, even though you are saying almost the same thing...they just like it better the way they put it...lol). I saw some of his side and explained that to him but they countined to stress other points that I couldnt see. NO ONE is going to be 100% right and they cant see that. So you agree to disagree...But never the less, I am happy for the TEAM and wish them all success!

Wow!!! when Lyttle is the go to player watch out, 28 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Korea. She made it look easy. Let me get ready to watch our other Dream player in the US game. If you look around you can find these games for free. I am not paying for any of the games I have been watching.

So you agree to disagree...But never the less, I am happy for the TEAM and wish them all success! you need to stop trying to act like you're the rational one... nothing in any of your statements was even close to compromise.... i'm a very intelligent person... intelligent enough to know that my opinions are just that... opinions... subject to be right or wrong.... it kills me when people make the statement that someone else thinks that they are always right.... ignoring the fact altogether that THEY also think that they are right... you argued in your "rightness" just as hard as i did.... get real... i do however agree that whalen would be good at our point... but there's little difference between the way whalen runs a team and the way lawson runs it.... whalen is a better penetrator... lawson is a better outside shot... but they both run the court fairly well and see the court well.... but my choice was rooted in reality... yours is rooted in fantasy... anyone that knows what minn gave up to get whalen.... knows that it's not realistic.... they gave up what amounted to charles and montgomery.... what would we have to give up for her.... izi and erica??... and if i've got something to say about you... i come right out and say it directly to you... i don't disguise it in a ridiculous rant to someone else... filled with off handed insults.... i think that you get caught up in vague suppositions that sound right to you... and that you don't really have a good grasp of what you're talking about... that direct enough for you?? oh yeah... go team....
