A disappointing effort at home after the long road trip. About the only thing exciting about this game was Jenny Boo rockin' a white suit.
Betty scored one point.
Ivory left the game in the 4th and did not return; Kasha (Comcast Player of the Game) mentioned something about Ivory getting a tooth knocked out, but I can't say that's definitely what happened. I'll tell you the refs were letting them play, which was advantageous (Bales and Feenstra) and then not so much (Lennox and Latta).
{update: Ivory did have a cap knocked out by Sholandra Robinson}
We dug ourselves our early hole and got beat on the inside; the problem I had was that our big gals were on the bench until about 4:30 left to play in the first. When they came in it made a difference at least somewhat on defense: the team recorded twelve blocks, Bales had five and Katie had four.
We got within five points and then Sac went on a run and then it was 12...then 16...then Izi (4 of 16 FG) got T'd up...she fouled Kara Lawson (I thought it was Kim Smith), got pissed and slapped the ball out of bounds. Note to Izi: Play defense. And grow up.
Shooting: Izi I already mentioned. Young, 1/7 FG; Bales, 2/7 FG ; Feenstra, 2/6 FG. Note Bales and Feenstra, these are inside misses. Overall 23/66 or 34.8%. From three point land, 3/19, or 15.8%.
Kasha Terry (yes, I know Sac's starters played half the game or less) continues to make her point for staying in her starting spot, but she needs some help.
We did win rebounds 38-34.
21 points for Sac on 19 Dream turnovers.
Wished there could have been a better effort for the
homecoming.
Back to work.
