I understand she didn't have the best season last year and we most likely will never again see the Swoopes who was called "the female Michael Jordan". However, she was the very first player to sign with the WNBA and she is considered a legend of the game. You don't waive a legend, especially without notice. Is there really no other team out there for her? I'd just like to see her walk alway from the WNBA, not get pushed away. For those that didn't see the article on Swoopes reaction it's here blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/storm/2009/02/09/swoopes_shares_more_about_bein.html . *sigh* The roster change claims yet another victim.

agler is a classless "sex act" .....the way they handled this was horrible.....and makes our sport look tacky.....this reminds me of the way the atlanta falcons did eric d ickerson
it is ridiculous that you can't even use the name "d ick" with this filter....

Yes, Swoops was great, but is it possible that like so many other pro athletes, she just didn't know when to quit?
It would have been great publicity for the sport to have done a farewell tour, but with the smaller roster, and the "need to win", I'm sure it was made a whole lot easier For a "tacky" GM or coach to follow their true nature. Besides they probably saved money by keeping a cheaper player.
Makes you wonder about what's really important, doesn't it?

The one in her senior year? I have the DVD. That game was awesome. Katie smith was on fire too. I forgot her name but the senior with the bow cried at the end. I'm glad Sheryl still wants to play. She definitely has something to prove. There are tons of player who came off of injuries and still have something left. Even though they're two different people and play two different positions that might require one to have to work a little harder than the other, Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes can't be denied. I think it's tougher for Sheryl than Lisa because Sheryl's left her mark in Houston and to start fresh for one more season on her salary may not make sense to a few coaches out there. Whereas with Leslie, she doesn't have to pick up from scratch. She's been in LA from the get go. Yeah age may be a huge factor in this equation but Swoopes is so much better than that. Plus it really doesn't make sense when a lot of these WNBA teams have at least two or three low scorers on the the team and refuse to take Sheryl just because of a salary. I miss Sheryl I would definitely like to see someone get smart and sign her *nudges Mr. Key* Sheryl in Chicago would be sweet. Only because it's my home state. Any opinions on a team for Sheryl? I'm wearing my Swoopes shirt to the next Sky game.

Her leadership alone for some of these youngers teams is worth it....
