They can only have 11 active players in any given game, they carry 13 so two have to be classified as inactive and not dressed to play. They never tell us before hand who that's going to be. With Erika hurt she is one, the other depends. My guess is that it was Feenstra last night because she would have had the most trouble staying with the run-n-gun Mercury. But, that's just a supposition. Thanks. I don't know all the rules of the WNBA and I didn't know that. Still, I assume there is certain time when the active roster is communicated to the league. It would be nice if that info was shared with the fans at the same time. Honestly, I think its a very short window right before the game like only an hour or two and it changes every game. I'm not sure that would be much use for us - and it takes away some of the surprise!

Betty pulled up limping again last night after a collision in the 2nd Q. I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to remember if she came back in in the 2nd half? I'm thinking, No. Anyone over behind the bench (or watching on ESPN2) get an update on how serious the knee is? Is she going to be back against Houston?

Here's my (glass is half-full) theory on the 33-9 second Q. Do you remember at the beginning of the season when we were all commenting about how they could get 2 quarters together but not the whole game. Now, I think that we play well for 3 maybe 3 and a half quarters. Unfortunately for us that leaves at least half a quarter (5 min) to really lose it. Yesterday, that was the start of the 2nd Q. Now, if we could spread out those 5 mins so they did not all hit at once I think we could recover better. Once you're down by 20+ its really hard to make up the deficit because you can't trade baskets anymore. I also think its very hard for them to adjust when B$ is out (even more so than when she's just off her shot - hmmm that's debatable I guess).
Turnovers hurt, yes. But I think that transition defense and rebounding (especially 2nd chances that got away because we couldn't follow our shots) were still the biggest contributers to the Merc's running much more than we wanted them to. Our defense we okay up until they made the third pass on offense. We just aren't as confident with helping out of that man defense to rotate and cover the third person which added up to a LOT of easy baskets in the paint. I wish we'd not run it the whole game. They seemed to be having some successes with their match-up 2-3 zone a few games ago. Rebounding was at least better.

McGee played in the WNBA in, I think the 1997 and 1998 seasons and was an all-American at USC back in the Cheryl Miller era. That was that great USC team that had the McGee twins, Cheryl, and a little known player named something Cooper.

That is very cool. I played for a little while with Paula in the early 90's when she was in ATL in graduate school. That's got to be the first - i'm not sure anyone else has a child old enough except maybe Yo-Yo.

Anyone have any idea what's up with Kristen? She was out the entire second half (I think) with the heat pack and on the bike...is it shin splints or something else?

Anyone have info on a back pain issue? She gets plenty of minutes one game and then very limited the next. She has high BB I.Q. Really seems to be a stablizer when she is in the game. Yes. But, why they got her playing at the 5? WOW I think she is one of those versitile players that is smart enough to play several positions. She's not the biggest on the team but she does play smart when they ask her to play the center. I think she's a natural 3 (or maybe 4). She had her best game when they asked her to step up and play the 5 spot. Maybe she just needs to be challenged like that - and then given the minutes to prove that she can do it.

What gives? It's Sunday evening and I'm looking forward to watching the Dream on NBA TV. Then this message comes up that the game will not be shown in my area due to contractual restrictions. The previously televised home games that were listed for broadcast on NBA TV showed the same message. So I thought maybe that contractual restrictions meant something like local or area blackout becasue the game wasn't sold out. I am struggling to understand how Birmingham could be blacked out for a game played in Detroit!?!?! Anyone have any ideas? I watched the webcast from the website...no problems...no blackouts.

The Sun have scored the last 10 points. ...well, whipped again. I wouldn't say "whipped"....beat, yes...but not whipped They showed more heart than they ever had...defense way better, rebounding better, more players stepping up....and we gave them a good run for their money. We stayed with them...had some leads. And we didn't let them dominate the game. I'm WAAAAAAAAAY proud of our team tonight. No reason to hang their/our heads. Here! Here! the way they played tonight.
