as i said on the other thread..... i've never really understood her following.....but anyway..... i would guess that they tried to shop feenstra first but got no takers..... i imagine that they had to give something up to get something..... and mann fit the bill.... i personally would have tried to shop izzy..... but that's just me....
as for bales.....she slow of foot.....but she can catch the ball.... and hold on to it when she does..... and she's not a complete pansy in the middle....
i'm probably in the minority.... but i think this was a good move.... for the dream..... and for bales....
latta......lennox....a steadily improving terry....the same for young....a solid back in strother.....a big body in bales..... a returning desouza..... it we can get some consistancy out of lacy and lovelace......we have a team.....not an expansion team..... but a fairly good team....
i do think that meadors has her guards now playing a little anxious..... they're playing like they're on pins and needles....

I know that Mann had her following, and so for all of y'all that were big Mann fans, sorry to see her go, but as Scarab said earlier, hopefully things will work out better for her in Indy.

I am mad about this because I'm a huge Mann fan and I really wanted to see her stay. At the same time I do feel like she wasn't being used to the fullest. Therefore, I felt that she would be traded soon (I too would have given up Izzy instead)...Maybe there were off court reasons for this?? I'm sure Mann will do great over at Indiana...I'm still a die-hard Mann fan, I guess I'll just be spending time on Indiana's site also now... Best Wishes To K. Mann As A Part Of The Fever!!
Also...for those interested there's a Mann photo gallery on Fevers website.

In the AJC story Dream Records First Victory, Beats Sky: "Forward Kristen Mann wasn't able to be a part of the win. She was traded to the Indiana Fever on Friday for center Allison Bales, who played nearly 18 minutes Saturday night. Mann did send a text message to one of the team's employees to congratulate her former teammates. She kept track of the game online."

*sigh* yet ANOTHER big slow post. Well at least Bales has got a bit better skillset than our resident tree stump. Still, I think this is bull. And I can't even curse on here. #@#$%&(*^%%$$$((*&^%$!!! Based on what I saw Saturday she is faster than I thought. Were you surprised???

Well Mann is suited this time for tonight's Fever game with the Mystics. I'm not holding my breath on them putting her in the game though.

Hey Mann fans,
Just wanted to let you all know Kristen was at the Dream/Lynx game last night!
She looked happy, was walking around the arena a lot, and was well-received by her old team fans. I'm sure she probably got together with some of the Dream girls after the game!
Mike in MN
P.S. The Lynx actually still have a "Kristen's Korner" banner hanging in Target Center!

That's good to hear that she's still supporting our girls and I'm sure her former team. It's interesting that her thread is still going even though she's no longer with us...Bales was definitely a good pick-up for us but now that Lovelace has been waived it just makes the fact that Mann missed our 1st win that much more annoying.

Based on what I saw Saturday she is faster than I thought. Were you surprised??? YES! I was definitely pleasantly surprised, and happy to admit that I may have been wrong here. I was just commenting to some friends last night that Bales looks a LOT faster than I remembered. Although she is still a little slow moving laterally (defensively), she gets up and down the floor better than I expected. Compared to Feenstra, she looks like FloJo. She's still not as aggressive on offense as I'd like to see at her size, but at least she's aggressive on D. Her overall game is a vast improvement over Feenstra IMO if we're going for size. I still love Mann and wish we could have found a place for her here, especially with Lovelace being waived. I know many don't understand her "following", but there's a lot to be said for basketball IQ that can't be measured on a stat sheet. At least to me. She probably would never have put up gaudy numbers, but I think she is a solid role player especially for a team like us. But so far I'm happy with Bales. And I'm now removing my foot from my mouth. Gladly. GO DREAM!

Gladly. GO DREAM! Maybe Bales has lost some weight. Look what happened to McCarville’s game when she knocked off the weight. N. Powell is another. Even T. Johnson looks 20 pounds lighter. I think Terry’s game would benefit too. With a little more experience I think Lacy can fill the void left by Mann.

You know you can call yourself a Dream fan when you've just flipped on New York/Indiana and you say, "Hey! That's Kristen Mann!"
