If anything, she's getting underhyped... The show she put on in the ASG proves it -- she needs to be the starter. People forget she tied the league record for most assists in a player's first two games. She has the passing ability of Celine, but she can shoot much better and is better for running our break. She just lost her confidence a little I think once Celine returned and she lost minutes. She needs to be the starting PG.

As part of Shoni's 2014 WNBA All-Star Movement contest, I started the hashtag #VoteforShowtimeShoni. Each time you vote for her on Twitter, send a second tweet or FB post with that hashtag to show that you voted, and that way your vote will count as part of the number of votes I have gotten people to make, and it will help me win the contest!!! Thanks fellow Dream Nation! #RWTD!

I don't know about everyone else, but I am thrilled with the signing of Celine. This has sold me on the trading of Alex. We must've known Armintie was leaving, so we took the chance to get a replacement two-guard in Matee, and then to have this great signing of an elite PG in Celine. I don't feel like going through her credentials, but it seems to me as though we could have an All-Star caliber PG running the show for us. A lineup that looks like this would be great:
PG - Celine Dumerc SG - Matee Ajavon SF - Angel McCoughtry PF - Sancho Lyttle C - Erika de Souza 6th - Tiffany Hayes
Also, I am pretty happy with the signing of Samantha. We could now have two of the best backup point guards in the WNBA backing up Celine. Both of them were tried out as starters (Jasmine here and Sammy in Phoenix, neither of which quite panned out), so I think that they would be perfect for their new roles.
Great work, Angela Taylor!!!

Coach Fred coached us to the Finals WITHOUT Sancho Lyttle and with unexperienced PGs. He also got our team chemistry to an all-time high. We faced one of the best teams in WNBA history in the Lynx in the Finals. That doesn't warrant a coaching change from the best replacement I could've imagined for Coach Meadors (who shouldn't have been fired either). Attachments:

Her stats have never been great, but she has had more good years than Le'Coe.

The Atlanta Dream have signed Ruth Riley! I think this was a great signing. She is a two-time WNBA champion, Olympic Gold Medalist, and former All-Star. She is coming into fill in the roster spot that was vacated by Sancho's suspension. I should've known this signing was coming, because I saw here at Philips in the Hawk Walk at Friday's game, and I knew a roster spot was open, but I didn't put two and two together lol. Anyway, I am very happy with this signing, because I think she will be taking LeCoe Willingham's roster spot once Sancho returns. She is basically a better version of LeCoe. They are both bigs that can shoot (but Riley is a better shooter and a better rebounder), they both have championship rings (although Riley played a bigger role on her two championship teams), and Riley has a Gold Medal and has been an All-Star (which Willingham has not). The Dream website marketed the Willingham signing like we signed Tamika Catchings, and I was not happy about that, and I think Riley is a much better and more high-profile marketing worthy signing than Willingham was. I couldn't be happier to have this WNBA legend on our team, and I think she will still contribute a lot (I am surprised no one else had signed her yet). What are your thoughts?

I agree. The best part is they are both very young, and they have a lot of time to improve and develop as players.

True, true. She is a very inconsistent shooter, but I just cannot forget when she scored 30 points in a playoff game a couple years ago, and the year she made the All-Star team. Sad to see how quick she has become forgotten in this league.

Just read that Sancho Lyttle is participating in (I think) the same event that Epiphanny Prince of the Sky is, and will miss six games while playing for Spain. She will be suspended for the duration of her absence. This could really hurt us. Without Lindsey Harding, Sancho has really been looked at as our #2 scoring option this season, and she has responded, averaging 15.4 points per game, second on the team. We will now have to look to Erika de Souza and Tiffany Hayes to play increased roles offensively. We'll see how they respond. Hayes is already playing an increased role offensively, making up for some of the scoring ability that we lost when Lindsey left. What do you all think?

Izi and Sydney Carter (from our preseason roster this year) have signed with Connecticut, and Izi made her Sun debut tonight on national TV, playing just under two minutes and shooting 0/1 from the field. I am hoping she can get more PT than she did last year in Washington, and that the former All-Star will have a solid season in her 11th year in the league.
As for Sydney Carter, she made it past the first round of cuts of our preseason roster this year, but really didn't show me much in any of her preseason games. This shows how injury-depleted the Sun are.
Wishing both of them well in Connecticut! Any thoughts on these signings by Connecticut? They always seem to pick up players we let go. They also brought back Jessica Moore after we waived her last season.

Well, we did make the Finals with Shalee Lehning as our starting PG, and I think that both Thomas and Bentley are better than she was.

I haven't seen anything about what exactly Carson's injury was, but it looked BAD. As for Pondexter, they have a very good PG in Leilani Mitchell, so I don't get why they don't start her, have Cappie play SG, and have Williams come off the bench as a 6th Woman.
As for our team, I am really happy with Coach Williams. He really has us playing great team basketball, hustling for loose balls, and executing our offense well. Couldn't be happier.
